What is a commercial trough sink?

A long, multi-user wash basin designed for high-traffic public washrooms. SOPHSTONE trough sinks are cast from seamless engineered stone for hotels, airports, stadiums, and universities.

What series does SOPHSTONE offer?

Two: the PreFab Series (Rettangolo, Scoop, Slant) for trim-to-fit units, and the Designer Series (Arroyo, Bijou, Glacial, Vertex). Fully custom fabrication is available through our bespoke department.

What's the difference between standard and custom?

Standard models ship in fixed stock lengths for faster lead times. Custom models are fabricated to your exact length, color, and faucet layout from architectural drawings.

What lengths are available?

Standard lengths range from 24 to 144 inches depending on model. Custom lengths are available on every model, with seamless runs up to 20 feet.

What colors and finishes are available?

20 standard colors and 4 metal finishes, Brass, Copper, Bronze, and Iron, plus unlimited Pantone and physical-sample color matching.

Are matching plumbing enclosures available?

Yes. Optional matching plumbing enclosures conceal supply and waste lines and are available for every length.

How do I order, what is the model format?

Order using MODEL-LENGTH-COLOR, for example SOPH-GT-30-CN. Cotton (CN) is the standard color; all other colors are special order.

What is the lead time?

PreFab Series units typically ship in about five business days. Designer and custom orders vary by specification, contact us for a timeline.

Can I request a sample?

Yes. Request a sample kit to review colors and finishes firsthand. Color shown on screen is only a representation.

How are the sinks installed?

Carriers are bolted to wall studs, the sink is fixed with silicone adhesive, and the joint is caulked to the finished wall. See the full method on the installation page.

What carrier height do I use for ADA?

Primary carriers mount at 33 inches for a 34 inch ADA rim, 1 inch below the intended top surface. Secondary spacing is a maximum of 32 inches, typically 24 inches.

What happens to trimmed sides?

Trimmed sides are unfinished and are designed to sit against side walls or be field-seamed to another component.

How do I clean and maintain them?

The seamless, non-porous surface needs only a mild, non-abrasive cleaner and a soft cloth. No sealing is required. See the full care guide.

Can scratches or stains be removed?

Color runs through the whole material, so minor marks don’t expose a different layer. Fine scratches in the matte finish can be buffed in the direction of the finish.

Are SOPHSTONE trough sinks ADA compliant?

Yes. All standard trough sinks are manufactured ADA compliant and ICC certified for the USA and Canada, provided they are installed to the specified carrier heights.

What material are they made from?

A low-percentage polyester modified high-purity acrylic polymer engineered stone, with a high percentage of recycled and re-purposed content.

Are they environmentally certified?

Yes. The material is Red List Free, environmentally certified, and LEED contributing. Manufacturing is governed by ISO 9001 quality management.
